Bhim Singh visits flood-affected areas in Srinagar

Srinagar September 30, (Scoop News)- Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party and Member of National Integration Council (NIC) accompanied by Masood Andrabi, Vice President of JKNPP and several senior Panthers Party leaders visited several flood-affected areas in the City of Srinagar, summer capital of J&K. Several individuals, groups and flood-affected people met Panthers Party leaders and narrated the horrors of floods from 2nd September to 9th September, 2014. Thousands of families have been living under open skies and a few have been provided tents by the Army. Prof.Bhim Singh told the walking media persons that Panthers Party team met hundreds of people affected by the floods who have not been provided any relief, no drinking water, no ration, no food, no shelter. He said that the entire city has gone out of gear and there is no governance. The streets are jam-packed and the people in thousands are sitting on the roads demanding water, food and shelter.
Prof.Bhim Singh is in Srinagar expressed shock on the working of the governance and said that no follow action has been taken to implement the directions of the Supreme Court which the Court has given to the Union Government and Govt. of J&K on 12th, 15th, 18th & 24th of September, 2014 on a writ petition filed by J&K National Panthers Party. Prof.Bhim Singh said that the court has directed to form unified command of all the disciplines of administration. Nothing has been done. He said more than Rs.5000 crores have gone to J&K Relief Fund yet he did not find a single beneficiary affected by the floods. Prof.Bhim Singh said that relief material including ration and clothes are dumped at the railway stations of Jammu, Udhampur and Katra. Similarly, NPP Chief Patron said that hundreds of the houses have been demolished in Udhampur, Rajouri, Mendhor, Srinagar City, Pulwama, Anantnag and other places but the administration has not been able to provide any relief to the victims.
Prof.Bhim Singh said that the mohallas and the interior areas of Srinagar City have started stinking yet nothing has been done by the State government.
Prof.Bhim Singh has come to Kashmir today to collect the latest data regarding the effects of floods. He shall be visiting Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag, Budgam in Kashmir Valley. Prof.Bhim Singh and his team shall visit Districts of Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch also. Prof.Bhim Singh shall file a detailed report before the Supreme Court of India when Panthers Party’s petition shall come for hearing on 10th October, 2014.
