| A girl child is God's gift, nurture her like a flower: Former SSP | |
Jammu,September 29, (Scoop News)- Prominent social worker and SSP (retd.) Bhupinder Singh was speaking at the 'save & empower the girl child' campaign organized by Public Relations Commission at camp office, Jammu. “I think the country needs to sit up and take notice about saving the girl child. In today's time people should not think that women are less than men. I don't think it is like that today. Basically, it is wrong and illiterate attitude”.
Singh said that children are God's gift and no one has right to harm a little child or take anyone's life.He said that our state and country has many such examples of women who have risen from the ashes and done the country proud. India can be poised and shining only if the girls are given an opportunity to prove their talents. In education they have been toppers consistently against boys. A girl is like a flower to be nurtured.
Singh further said that Unless India gives women a chance to survive, it would fail as the world’s largest democracy.
"I am happy that Public Relations Commission is doing such type of events. They are doing this initiative for saving the girl child, which is a powerful thing. I am happy that so many people are here to support, and I am blessed to be here," former SSP said.
“From the next year, we would organise such monthly programmes at different parts in rural as well as in urban areas ,” Nimrandeep Singh , M.D , Public Relations Commission said.
