IKFS applauds Modi, NDRF & IAF for their intensified Rescue,relief operations in Kashmir


Kuwait,September 09, (Scoop News)- Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS) , a non-profit socio-cultural friendship association in Kuwait hereby expresses deep gratitude to the Indian Army for moving hundreds of columns for evacuating hundreds of thousand people from different areas of Jammu and Kashmir state so far. There will be a great efforts and money required for the restoring of basic infrastructure facilities by re-building bridges and roads. IKFS said in the letters addressed to Prime Minister of India Indian Army, IAC & NRDF chiefs that India can overcome any unexpected situation. India is a sleeping giant and nobody underestimate India’s defense power whether in the case of disaster or war or calamity.

IKFS President Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor in a statement issued to Scoop News from Kuwait said that IKFS appreciates India’s deployment of several hundred planes and helicopters to vacate the flood victims and deploying Giant aircrafts such as C-130J Super Hercules aircrafts to transport hundreds of boats from Pune and Gandhinagar to Srinagar, and supplying thousands of tents and blankets from Kanpur to Jammu and Srinagar.

IKFS appreciates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high level meeting with Chief Minister of Kashmir Omar Abdullah and carrying out “Aerial survey of the flood-affected areas” in the Valley to count on unfortunate “National level Disaster”. It was a great adventure and courage indeed by Modi. We, value immediate relief order by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for H.E.’s sincere initiative for the assistance of One thousand Crore Indian Rupees (equivalent of about Kuwaiti Dinars 47.5 million) to rescue towards the people of Jammu & Kashmir. This is the great proof that our elected Indian Government, Jawans, Pilots, Navy men will never down people of Jammu & Kashmir and never allow to suffer or ignore them in any un-known conditions or calamities






IKFS in satement said that Constant rain and landslides are now wreaking havoc in Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir. A devastating deluge has brought life to a standstill in the state, claiming more than 500 lives, inundating hundreds of villages and leaving lakhs stranded. Though the water level began to recede in the southern parts Indian states of Jammu & Kashmir, most of the city remained under water even as it finally stopped raining on Sunday, after seven days of continuous downpour, reports of more deaths and destruction poured in from across the state. More than 500 people are reported to have died in the last seven days, while thousands stranded and affected more than 5 lakhs (500,000)people. As per the “Rescue workers” statements over 10,000 people, including women and children, were stranded in Rajbagh and the surrounding areas, where the level of water has reached over 30 feet.
