Bhim Singh called on Parliament to amend Article 370
to end political anarchy

Kota (Rajasthan), August 18, (Scoop News)- Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron and Member of NIC warned the political leadership in the country to end political anarchy, uncertainty and constitution disparity vis-a-via Jammu and Kashmir imposed by the Constituent Assembly through Article 370. Addressing a Press Conference in Kota, Rajasthan,he said, though, Article 370 was a temporary phase meant to curb the power of the then Maharaja Hari Singh who was the continued the Constituent Assembly as monarch after the enaxement of the Indian Constitution on 26th January 1950. He said that all the monarchs/ Maharajas/rulers in all Indian States were eased out except in Jammu and Kashmir. Was it a conspiracy by the Constituent Assembly under Nehru’s leadership or it was simply a thought less blunders committed least realizing its consequences.

Prof. Bhim Singh told the media that monarchy in Jammu and Kashmir came to an end by a resolution of the Constituent Assembly on August 20, 1952 under the leadership of Sheikh Mohd Abdullah. He strongly argued that Article 370 became infructuous at that point.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that present political anarchy, chaos, terrorism and uncertainty is the product of Article 370 and people of all the three regions namely Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu Pradesh have been suffering because of Article 370. The tragedy, he said, is that 60 years after the integration of the state with the Union of India, the Parliament has no power to make any law even on the union list in J&K. Separate Constitution is imposed on Jammu and Kashmir sans national flag yet they call it (J&K) an integral part of India. He blamed both National Conference (NC) on the one hand PDP and BJP on the other for the present mess which has been created to keep Jammu and Kashmir boiling so that communal divide can help both sides during elections

Prof, Bhim Singh said that it is the high time that the Parliament amends article 370 to empower Parliament to extend the jurisdiction of Indian Constitution with its fundamental rights to Jammu and Kashmir.

Prof. Bhim Singh wondered on the silence of Shri Narinder Modi, the Prime Minister of India on the issue of Article 370 and India’s Foreign Policy in his address to the nation on 15th August from the Red Fort. He also criticized the National Media, the political leaders and the newspapers for labeling the Kashmiri leaders as ‘Separatists’ when every resident of Jammu and Kashmir is citizen of India. The angry Kashmiri leaders cannot be described as Separatist only because they have been fighting a corrupt, communal, authoritarian and imposed Government on the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Prof. Bhim Singh also regretted that Prime Minister Modi has been playing with old and out dated agenda only for communal divide. Prof. Bhim Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir is a national problem and confederal state with three –state formation (ladakh-Baltistan, Kashmir valley, and Jammu-Muzaffrabad) is the only way out which is possible through an amendment in article 370. The Parliament allow can save Jammu and Kashmir with rest of the country. Earlier Mr. Ashok Vapna and old associates of Prof. Bhim Singh and President of Rajasthan Panthers Party while introducing Prof. Bhim Singh to the media said , “ Prof Bhim Singh is an ideal leader in the country who traveled on peace mission around the world on motorcycle for five years. He is among the highest educated leader in the country having studied Bar, LLM from London University . He is rare nationalist politician in J&K who spent more than eight years prison only because he stood for national flag and the Indian Constitution.”
