| JKUF condemns Pak for promoting narco-terrorism, Stand Off on LoC | |
Jammu, January 30, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Unity Foundation has expressed serious concern over the standoff between India and Pakistan on the cross LoC Trade after the seizure of huge quantities of Brown sugar from a Pakistani truck claiming it has jeopardized the goodwill between the people on both of the state of Jammu and Kashmir through trade linkages.
JKUF Convener Ajaat Jamwal in a statement issued here said that even though it is highly condemnable that Cross LoC trade is being used for transport of narcotics into India yet a mechanism needs to be evolved that any smuggling or clandestine transport of narcotics into India through such methods is handled in such a way that bonafide trade across LoC does not suffer.
He said that JKUF is very well aware that a large segment of people in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir exists who have been vociferously opposing all narc o-terrorist operations. It is high time such forces are encouraged from this side and the people to people linkages established with them.
JKUF Convenor Ajaat Jamwal condemned the Pakistan Government for detaining 27 Indian trucks as a reaction to the arrest of the Pakistani truck driver who was allegedly carrying more than 100 Kg of Brown Sugar.
JKUF urges the International community to take cognizance of this reality and take necessary steps to stop Pakistani government from showing such a brazen support for narcotics smuggling into India.
The stand of the Pakistani government that the driver who smuggled Brown Sugar into Indian side of Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed Diplomatic immunity clearly shows the involvement of the Pakistan Government in narcotics trade not only into India but globally. It also shows that narco-terrorism is the core policy of the Pakistan through which it wages a war against India, Jamwal said.
