RBI organizes Quiz Competition at Jammu


Jammu, September 23 (Scoop News)- Shubham Rajrah and Brijesh Choudhary of JK Public School, Kunjwani, Jammu won the City Round of the second RBI Quiz Competition organized here today. They will now be competing in the Zonal Finals of RBIQ to be held at Mumbai on September 28, 2013. More than 150 teams from different schools of Jammu Province participated in the in the Preliminary Round of the Quiz. Out of these, six teams reached the Quarter Final stage. These are Army Public School, Damana, Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Army Public School, Kalu Chak, Sainik School, Nagrota, Army Public School, Miran Sahib and JK Public School, Kujwani.
Speaking on the occasion, K.K Saraf, Regional Director, RBI for J&K said that the RBIQ was being organized with a view to create awareness and interest about the history and role of RBI, banking, finance, other banking institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of the country over the years. RBIQ is aimed at connecting RBI and the young student community enrolled in schools across the country and achieving extensive dissemination of financial literacy, he added. It will also be an opportunity for recognizing and encouraging bright young students on a national platform. He also said that RBIQ is being held at 44 locations across the country and Jammu has been chosen as one of the locations for the second time. Earlier RBIQ-2013 had also been organized at Srinagar on July 17, 2013.
Gautam Bose, nationally renowned Quizmaster, conducted the Quiz in his inimitable style and kept the teams and the audience glued to their seats throughout the duration of the programme. He asked many questions from the audience and gave away prizes to them for right answers. The audience for the programme constituted, besides the participants, hundreds of students from different schools of Jammu who thoroughly enjoyed the quiz that they found informative as well as entertaining. A.K.Mattu, General Manager, RBI, Jammu gave away the prizes to the winners and all the quarter finalists at the conclusion of the Quiz. The programme was conducted by Ravinder Kaul.
