| KP bodies assail hooliganism at Khir Bhawani | | expresses shock over incident | Srinagar, June 17 (Scoop News)-Several organizations of Kashmiri Pandits have assailed the miscreants who created a scene at Mata Khir Bhawani in Ganderbal today when Chief Minster Omar Abdullah was interacting with devotees, who had thronged from various parts of the state to pay obeisance at the shrine on the auspicious occasion of Jaishth Ashtami.
While a strong group of devotees led by Mata Kalyani over-powered the miscreants, who numbered less than a dozen and forced their quick retreat, large number of devotees decried the hooliganism at a religious place where people had come to seek spiritual bliss.
Nagdandi Vivekananda Mission, on the occasion, welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude for making adequate arrangements on account of drinking water, power, healthcare, lodging etc besides ensuring sainitation and hygiene in the shrine and its peripheries. They also acknowledge transport and other related arrangements made by the administration.
Kashmiri Minority Forum today condemned the unpleasant situation created by some miscreants at Khir Bhawani shrine in Tulmulla and warned against misuse of religious places for fulfillment of personal and political agenda.
In a statement, Rajinder Raina, Convener of the Forum, said that handful of miscreants cannot hold the entire Kashmiri Pandit community to ransom by indulging in indecent activities that too at a worship place like Khir Bhawani. He described the incident against the glorious ethos of Kashmiri Pandits and hoped that the community leadership will remain cautious from those who sell the miseries of the displaced people for their personal gains.
