| Sakina says communal amity abode of Kashmir | | visits Khirbhawani, Manzgam, |  Manzgam/Srinagar, June 17 (Scoop News)-Terming communal amity as abode of Kashmir, Minister for Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings, Ms Sakina Itoo today hoped that in the coming years, the migrated Pandits would come back to their native places and live with their neighbours as they used to before their migration. Today the Minister visited the Khirbhawani Mela at Manzgam and interacted with the devotees. She took a round of the whole temple complex and took stock the various construction activities presently under execution. Ms. Sakina said that the people of the State throughout centuries have preached communal harmony, brotherhood, tranquility and added that they are peace loving people. She said that the Kashmir Pandit community is an integral part of our society and without them, Kashmiri culture is incomplete. She said that from past some years, the flow of the Kashmiri Pandit devotees have gone manifold and added that it is a welcome sign for growing close relations between the majority and minority community members. She further said that Government has already taken a number steps for providing facilities to the Kashmiri Pandit to facilitate them to come to their here and hearths. Meanwhile, during her inspection to the various construction works, the Minister was informed that Rs. 2 lakhs have been spent on the crate works under MGNERGA while Rs 50,000 against the cost project of Rs. 4 lakh have been expended on the construction of protection wall behind the Spring and other renovation works of the Spring and further construction is in progress. She was further told that Rs.1.60 lakhs have been spent on the construction of community latrine under Total Sanitation Scheme. The Minister while interacting with the pilgrims, enquired about the facilities being provided to them during the Mela days. She directed the accompanying officers to ensure better facilities including round the clock power supply, safe drinking water, transport, essential commodities like rice, sugar, flour, LPG etc so that the devotees do not face any difficulties during their stay in Mela days. The Minister also paid obeisance at the Shrine of Baba Qawam-ud-Din (R.A.) and took stock of the developmental activities around the shrine. She directed construction of bath room and development of park, so that the devotees do not face any problem in performing their religious obligations. Earlier, the Committee members of the Manzgam Temple Committee put forth some demands including construction of more bath rooms, shelter sheds for accommodating pilgrims and immediate macadamization of Mangzgam –Gujjardar road. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Gulzhar Ahmad Dar, S.P. Kulgam, various senior officers of District Kulgam were present on the occasion. ... |
