| Former NC MLC hails CM for elaborate arrangements at Khir Bhawani | |
Srinagar, June 17 (Scoop News)- Former Member Legislative Council and National Conference leader Mr Bushan Lal Bhat on Monday hailed the administration for making elaborate arrangements at Khir Bhawani on the auspicious occasion of Jaishth Ashtami.
He described the annual Khir Bhawani festival as a shinning symbol of the State’s pluralistic ethos and said that the growing number of devotees thronging from Jammu and elsewhere in the country speaks of the fast changing scenario and bonds of amity between the communities.
Expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who visited the historic and revered shrine this afternoon, for taking personal interest in mobolsing various utility services for the comfort of devotees, Mr Bhat called for a perspective planning in respect of infrastructural facilities keeping in view the growing number of devotees with each passing year.
Mr Bhat, however, regretted over the scene created by handful of supporters of a particular political party and decried the attempts of vitiating such auspicious occasions.
