| BJP court arrests demanding PM’s resignation | | Jammu, June 17 (Scoop News)-As a part of the party’s country-wide “Jail Bharo Andolan” programme demanding resignation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh being head of the Congress-led UPA government in order to get rid of mis-governance and rampant corruption, hundreds of party activists of J&K BJP under the leadership of State President Jugal Kishore Sharma courted arrests on Monday after staging a dharna for three hours at Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Chowk. Prominent senior leaders who accompanied Jugal Kishore Sharma in courting arrests included Ashok Khajuria, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Sukhnandan Kumar (MLA), Sham Choudhary (MLA), Dr. Jitendra Singh, Amarnath Gupta, Sakina Bano, Ramesh Arora (Adv.), Bali Bhagat, Kavinder Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Sukhdev Singh and others. Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the dharna, said that the Congress-led UPA at the Centre has created new records in corruption. Scam after scam has being the gift of Manmohan Singh-led and Sonia Gandhi controlled government. He said the government has lost the faith of the people as well as morale right to continue, hence the Prime Minister should resign instead of sticking to the chair. He said that in J&K after the darbar move the problems of people in Jammu province have increased manifold. There is no ration, no water, no electricity for Jammuites. People are befooled on the name of development while in Kashmir every day foundation stones for new projects are being laid, which is yet another example of discrimination with Jammu. Leader of Legislative Party & National Executive Member Ashok Khajuria said that it is not only the UPA but the NC-Congress coalition in J&K too has promoted corruption and attempts being made to shield the corrupt ministers and bureaucrats. He said that our fight in J&K is for existence as Kashmir has always been forced on us and Jammu treated as colony. He said that not only NC and PDP but the Congress too has been pursuing such policies which are designed to appease anti-national elements and separatists. Shamsher Singh Manhas said that corruption in the country has touched new heights and our party activists have to reach the masses to expose the Manmohan Singh-led UPA for its involvement in country’s biggest ever scams. He said that the parties which paint BJP as communal have to be taught a lesson as they themselves are communal while BJP works on principle of equality and brotherhood. Party MLA Sham Choudhary said that the public money which need to be used for development and welfare is being looted by the UPA under Dr. Manmohan Singh and instead of taking effective steps to check corruption, the PM is watching as mute spectator. The PM should assert and give a corruption free and people friendly government but what the nation has got is corrupt ministers and anti-people government. He also asked the party activists to devote more time to expose the UPA.
