BJP Mahila Morcha organizes international Women Day


Jammu, March 8 (Scoop News) -On the occasion of International Women Day, BJP Mahila Morcha leaders and activists under the leadership of their State President Priya Sethi organized a grand function in Jammu city, which was attended by a large number of women drawn from different parts of the province. Over five dozen shawls and other items were distributed among the poor and needy women by Priya Sethi and hemorcha colleagues.
Addressing the gathering of women, Priya Sethi said that the women constitute about fifty per cent of the nation’s population and have been working in every field. They have proved their ability and capacity in society but still it is very unfortunate that the male dominated society do not accept them as equal and discriminate. She said that although there has been claims of educating and treating women equal but on ground still the position is different. In many families, the women has been confined within the four walls of the house.Priya Sethi said that the international women day is being celebrated with a clear motive to highlight the problems of the women and educate the society about the important role of women. She said that the need of the time is that the women should be granted reservations in the decision making bodies so that they are politically empowered.
BJP State Secretary, hailing from Kashmir, Haleema Begum, said that the women on this day should take pledge to get united and work in unison to achieve for the fair sex of what it has been deprived for long.
Mahila Morcha Distt. President Parveen Arora said that there is difference between the life of women living in rural and urban areas. While in urban areas, women have some sort of freedom, in rural areas they are still dreaming of the same and to end this difference, it is must to ensure proper education of the society at all levels and in all spheres.
