Jora unfurls tricolor at Reasi
REASI/Jammu, January 26 (Scoop News) –An impressive function was held at Sports Stadium to celebrate 64th Republic Day.
Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, unfurled the National Flag and took salute on the march past, presented by the school children and security personals.
The children presented a colourful bonanza of cultural items, depicting national integration, patriotism, social evils and importance of independence, which mesmerized the audience.
Jora said the country attained freedom after long struggle, in which thousands of people sacrificed their lives. He said that “we all have to make collective efforts to strengthen the bonds of unity and integrity of our country”, adding that younger generation has greater responsibility to preserve the hard won independence. This day is special for every Indian and it should be celebrated with pride and enthusiasm, he added.
He also distributed prizes amongst the students who took part in different activities. He congratulated the school management for excellent performance in academic as well in co-curricular activities.
Present on the occasion were Former minister and MLA Gulabgarh Abdul Ghani Malik, MLA Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma, MLC Jugal Kishor Sharma, DC Reasi Mrs. Nirmal Sharma and SSP Reasi Thakur Raghuvir Singh.
Similar functions were held at Katra, Mahore, Pouni and Arnas.
