| Floating Tarhee Mushaira organized | | Srinagar, October 05 (Scoop News) –In memory of legendary urdu poet of Kashmir Syed Akbar Jaipuri, a Tarhee Mushaira was organized by Commercial Broadcasting service Radio Kashmir Srinagar in collaboration with Akbar jaipuri memorial committee here this evening on a cruise (Sraan Naav) on the surface of famous Dal lake.
This memorable and historical poetry recitation was attended by renowned poets, scholars, writers, journalists, family members of late Akbar Jaipuri and other prominent personalities of the valley.
The Mushaira was inaugurated by Rukhsana Jabeen, a well known poetess and Director Radio Kashmir Srinagar. The Mushaira was presided over by Vice Chancellor Central University Prof. Abdul Wahid Qureshi while as prominent Eduducationist Mohammad Shafi Pandit, Dr. Mufti Altaf were guests of honor on the occasion. Mushaira was conducted by Prof. Agha Syed Raza.
The evening started with traditional Kashmiri Kahwa. On the occasion president Adbi Markaz Kamraz, Dr. Aziz Hajni while remembering Syed Akbar Jaipuri said “We must feel proud of him, such poets are assets for a nation. Jaipuri was God gifted Urdu poet and has contributed a lot to it, the poets who recited their poetry in Tarhee mushaira include Farooq Nazki, Rafiq Raaz, Sultan-ul-Haq Shaheedi, Gulshan Khataie, Dr. Shafaq Sopori, Dr. Nazir Azad, Rukhsana Jabeen.
Traditional Kashmiri Wazwan was served on famous little island Chaar Chinari in dinner. In his concluding speech Majid Muzmir on behalf of chairman Akbar Jaipuri Memorial Committee Zahoor Jaipuri, thanked participants organizers including Aks-e- Parwaz programme of Information department for highlighting literary activities.
This was one of the most memorable evenings for everyone to remember said by audience.
