| Manohar urges for making CICs fully operational IT parks | | Srinagar, May 18(Scoop News) – A review meeting regarding promotion of Information Technology and establishment of new IT Parks in the state was held here today which was chaired by Minister of State for Cooperative and Information Technology, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma. Among other the meeting was attended by Secretary, IT and Science & Technology, M A Bukhari, Special Secretary Science & Technology D R Sharma, CEO, JAKEDA, Fida Hussain, CEO JAKEGA, Director NIC, Joint Director Science & Technology Counsel Mushtaq Ahmad, Deputy Secretary Science & Technology, Deputy Director Planning and Statistics. The meeting discussed various measures for the promotion of IT sector in the State so that the potential of our talented, dynamic and qualified youth can be utilized in beneficial and progressive manner. While addressing the meeting Minister stressed for making viable the all IT projects in using latest technology in a time bound manner. He urged to make all already established Communication Information Centers (CICs) fully operational, so that the scheme can be used for the benefit of common masses besides, proper utilization of technically skilled persons who are working in such CIC’s in all districts of the state. In the said meeting, the Minister urged upon the formulation of policy for regularization of the already working trained technical persons in these CICs. He said that these CICs are very important for development and up gradation of technical skills. It was also decided in meeting that the IT parks will be set up in various parts of the state to generate employment. The computerization of treasuries (e-treasury system) was also discussed and it was informed that presently seven major treasuries are being computerized. The meeting was also informed that work on development of computer based database of 4.5 lac state employees and 1.5 pensioners are under progress.
