| Kashmir chief chairs UTEIC meeting | |  Srinagar, May 18(Scoop News) –Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon chaired the 26th Urban Transport Environment Improvement Committee (UTEIC) meeting today.
The meeting was attended by IGP Kashmir, CEO ERA, DIG Traffic Kashmir, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Chief Town Planner, ADC Srinagar, Joint Commissioner SMC, SE R&B Srinagar, Chief Engineer UEED, representatives from SDA and other allied departments.
Divisional Commissioner directed that while according permissions for multi-storeyed commercial buildings care should be taken that adequate parking facilities are provided so that the structures do not cause any traffic hindrances. He advised that the structures should be made earthquake resistant and should have adequate fire exits.
Dr. Samoon also advised Chief Town Planner that before the cases are processed for permission from UTEIC, the concerned departments should record their no-objection certificates. He stressed upon the SMC to ensure that no violation of permission is allowed and where violations have taken place notices should be issued and punitive action should be taken.
