| Air Force school Jammu celebrates annual day | |  Jammu, May 18 (Scoop News) – The Air Force School Jammu, celebrated its Annual Day today at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu. On arrival, he was accorded a warm welcome by Air Commodore Nitin Sathe, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jammu, Group Captain Shashikant Pati, Chief Administrative Officer, Air Force Station Jammu, Flight Lieutenant Karishma Sethi, Executive Director Air Force School Jammu and the Principal Air Force School Jammu.
The Annual Day function commenced by lighting of the traditional lamp, followed by the presentation of the Annual Report of the school for the academic session 2011-12 by Mr Vikesh Sandhal, Principal, Air Force School Jammu, highlighting the various achievements of the school during the year gone by.
A cultural bonanza presented by the talented students of the school followed, which included among the various items : a street play, a Mime presentation, various Group Songs, Dogri Dance, lively Bhangra and an enigmatic dance based on the “Vande Mataram”. The awareness skit on (colours of water) was especially applauded by one and all, for its symbolism and the social message that it conveyed. The presentation of the Mime was drew applause for its hilarious content, while the mellifluous group song ‘Suraj ki Garmi” had a very soothing effect on the audience.
The Non- Scholastic winners of the session were awarded prizes and certificates by Air Commodore Nitin Sathe, AOC Air Force Station Jammu, for their achievements in the field of various sports and other co-curricular activities.
The meritorious students for the session 2011-12 in the field of academics, were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest. Later the ‘Quarterly Newsletter’ of the school was also released by the chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest lauded the management and the staff of the school, for the efforts they had put in and the achievements the school has had over the last academic year.
