| Dr. Mahajan’s Rangmanchiya Pratiman awarded | | Jammu, February 07 (Scoop News) – “ Rangmanchiya pratiman aur surinder verma ka Natak research work in the field of Hindi drama and Theatre by the pioneer theatre activist, scholar, actor and writer Dr.Sudhir Mahajan has been selected by the Ministry of Human recourse Development for its award constituted for Hindi writers.
The book reflects the critical analysis of Surinder Verma’s all full length and short plays with the theatrical consideration in Indian and western perspectives was chosen for prestigious award by the high level selection committee of the Ministry under a special scheme of central Hindi Directorate for propagation and promotion of literature a encouragement and enrichment of Hindi literatures
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan will receive an award of Rs. One Lac from the President of India.
Dr. Sudhir mahajan done his Doctorate of philosophy in Hindi drama and theatre under the guidance of Dr. O.P Dwvedi from Jammu University. He has also done his post graduation of in Indian Theatre in 1993, under the chairmanship of prof. Mohan Maharishi from Chandigarh University, Master of philosophy in Hindi and Master of Education from Jammu University and post graduation in journalism from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan.
Dr. Mahajan awarded National fellowship in( Senior category )in theatre from Ministry of culture for educating Gujjar and Bakerwals, tribes of J&k through theatre.
Conducted more than 70 theatre workshops with children and young artists at Jammu.Written and adapted more then 20 plays in Dogri for T.V and stage, His major production were stage in prestigious National theatre festivals Bharat- rang Mahoutsav New Delhi Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi, All India Shoba shakti Natya samaroh at Chandigarh etc.
Acted and directed more than 100 plays and acquired the certification of merits awarded Best actor and Best Director in State drama festival by J&K academy of art, culture and languages 1998 and 2001 and also awarded best director by all India shoba shakti natya samaroh at chandigarh in 1995
. founder member of rang yatra organised by national school of drama repertory co. New Delhi in 1991 and assisted Mr. Bansi kaul and Dolly Ahuluwalia, Dr.Mahajan has also been felicitated by many educational and social institution of the state for his outstanding contribution in the field of theatre. Dr. Mahajan has also acted in a number of serials and documentaries including theatre plays for Jammu, Srinagar, Kashmir and DD-I and other channels.
Presently, he is Senior Drama Instructor in J&K Academy of Art , Culture and Languages , Jammu besides Hony.Director of Samooh Theatre and working with rural, urban, slums and tribal children and young as well, to educate them through theatre and search of new theatre languages, technique, Idiom and Methodology in drama and theatre for the socio- cultural development of the nation besides he is doing his further research work in the field of Indian drama and theatre for his D. lit .
The book for which he has been awarded described the theatrical analysis in term of Theatre languages , Dialoges, Lights , Costumes, Music , Sound , Scenic design and arrangements, Theatrical conflict , theatrical work busness and Acting . The plays in which the critical analysis has been done included Suraj Ki Antim Kiran se Suraj Ki Pehli Kiran Tak . Chotte Sayeed Bhare Sayeed , Shankula Ki Angoodi . Ek Dooni Ek ,Nayak Khalnayak aur vidhushak , Setuband , Droupdi , Aahdvan Sarg ,Qade – He Hayat , Shanivaar Do Baje , Marnoprant ,Veh Naak se bolte hain , Hari ghas par gante bhar , Neend Kyanu Raat bhar Nahin Aati and Hindolunger etc.
