| You People and We the People | |

2011 is gone. Nothing new . Time never stops. Important is what one learns from the sandy footprints of time. 2011 kept the Nation occupied with hopes and despairs. This great Nation- woven of centuries old secular fabric, nurtured by the principles of Truth, non-violence, and cohesive values of “Vasudev Kutumbkum”, this land of Budha -apogee of materialistic sacrifice, and Kautilya who gave Arth Shastra with tested principals equity, justice ,development and growth as well E-Governance and this precious Nation which was rescued from colonial rule, found itself ashamed in the midnight of 29th Des of 2011. The custodians of this great Nation could not bring out a Bill desperately required as an antidote in a corruption infested country.
2011 witnessed Anna emerging another Gandhi. Anna’s Lokpal Bill became people’s voice. But this cry of call could not awake conscious of power brokers of ruling coterie. Mesmerised by her Gandhi robe Sonia could not listen her inner voice. Anna, emerging new Gandhi of 21st century swallowed betrayal from the corridors of power.
The ruling clan projected official version of Bill as strong which was very intelligently shredded off thread by thread by the BJP leaders in both the houses of Parliament. Congress was keen to give constitutional status to a Bill cautiously prepared to sanction infinite immunity as well protection to the corrupt and perpetrators of corruption . Believing beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder so was the proposed BILL strong in the eyes of Congress. Designs of Congress were very exposed. Not a child but entire Nation pointed out that the Monarch was not wearing any robe. This Monarch has become submissive surrounded by arrogant courtiers. Tug of war over “my Lokpal is stronger than your Lokpal’ reminded of Kauravs and Pandvas in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Bhisham Pitamah, say Prime minister,remaining mute spectator proved more interested in protecting his chair and eventually corrupt system. Fuming Sonia Gandhi after failing to grant Constitutional status to a very weavil Bill made it very obvious that eventually a mother was hurt. Little Rahul had only desired to give a constitutional status to lame Duck. If passed Rahul Gandhi could be declared man of the match pushing this merit card to UP election. Oh ! how dare this stupid civil society and opposition of this disgusting Nation would not allow a child to have his dream fulfilled.
Though 2011 disappointed millions who suffocating from the vicious spate of corruption wanted a strong lokpal to curb menace of corruption, a forbidden word for decades. 2011 , certainly, awakened the conscious of people who were in search of a crusader against the corruption infested system. Among the political Parties, BJP took lead and gave vent against this debauch. Other political parties would not allow BJP to become voice of millions including young and old, civil society members and not so civil etc favoring a strong Lokpal. Yet Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley argued very strongly against the innumerous loopholes in the proposed Lokpal and suggested amendments which were not acceptable to the arrogant rulers of this great Nation. After exhausted of possible political strategies, think tank of Congress initially diverted the issue projecting itself champion of establishing superiority of democracy and MPs over millions of those who elected them and later abused the Constitution of India with religious divide as well minor minority bite out of OBC quota. Probably sensing (if any) fallacy of actions series of press conferences were held justifying their helplessness and shifted entire blame on opposition.
Eventually, 2011 shifted the battle ground from Parliament to elections in 5 States. Public has started showing teeth. Betrayed in Parliament, much abused middle class , suppressed/ oppressed farmers , poverty ridden people, communities whose dignity otherwise never find any reference anywhere or even in Parliament, people whose reference is found in the holy Constitution only , a class of this country engazed in dignified labor(construction workers, auto/riksha drivers, vendors etc etc) but referred as beggars by Rahul Gandhi, will again be allured with lucrative packages . Majority of population of this Great Nation will again be trapped with tricky linguistic jugglery of campaigners to enable poor clan of corrupt capitalist rulers loot even left over morsels by making a strong Law that will crush every one who will utter a single word against the Hon’ble corrupt. That defines supremacy of democratic power. Rahul was absolutely correct when he said there are two Indias. I mistook that for what Hindi literate Kamleshwar wrote ‘Kitne Pakistan Aur”or for rural-urban divide or for rich and poor India. I was wrong. Anti- people strategy against crusaders of anti – corruption movement and episode on the midnight of 29th Des, made it obvious that it was a divide of hapless innocents and most powerful arrogant, the herds of cattle and the masters, You, the ruled and we, the rulers. No, most appropriate is –You People and We the People.
