| NPP condoles death of Yash Sharma | | 
Jammu, September 07 (Scoop News) –Working Committee of NPP in a resolution condoled the death of Yash Sharma who died a couple of days back in Jammu after serving the people of Jammu, the media of Jammu, All India Radio for more than half a century. Yash Sharma known as sparkling light of the Dogras passed away when his voice and thought was needed most by the struggling Dogras for their identity and lost glory.
Prof. Bhim Singh expressed deep shock on his death and described his death as irreparable loss to the unique voice of Jammu. He recollected that it was Yash Sharma who in 1978 while covering the proceedings inside the Assembly of J&K wrote a strong commentary of the discussion in the House between Prof. Bhim Singh, Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah and Mirza Afzal Beg. Mirza Afzal Beg interrupted Bhim Singh challenging his accusation against Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah saying that, "Do you know that you are talking to Sher-e-Kashmir?" Prof. Bhim Singh rebutted back saying, "Do you know that you are talking to Sher-e-Jammu." It was Yash Sharma, the commentator in All India Radio who picked this conversation to the heights that Prof. Bhim Singh came to be known as Sher-e-Jammu from that day. Similarly, there was a heated discussion in the Assembly on the increase of excise duty on country made liquor. Prof. Bhim Singh opposed the move whereas Mirza Afzal Beg opposed Prof. Bhim Singh. During the discussion Mirza Afzal Beg asked Bhim Singh, "Do you drink?" Bhim Singh retaliated saying, "I drink everything except human blood." There was applause and uproar inside the House. This discussion was also picked up by Yash Sharma. Yash Sharma was one of the most invaluable human being full of humour. Every word he wrote or spoke carried a message to the people of Jammu to pick up their lost glory and forgotten identity.
Prof. Bhim Singh in his tributes to Shri Yash Sharma described him as one of his teachers in life whom he has lost.
