| Absconding Gangster of Balraj Singh @ “Bhau” Gang Of Old City Apprehended After 27 Years | | Kathua Police launched a drive to nab the Gamblers |
Jammu/Kathua, August 27 (Scoop News) – In a special drive launched against the absconders by the Jammu Police, Pacca Danga Police today arrested a notorious gangster of Balraj Singh @“Bhau” Gang of Old City who had been absconding since the year 1984 after committing a shoot-out near Shankuntla Theatre.
Identified as Mohinder Singh son of Bal Singh of Makhanpur Gujran, Miran Sahib who is presently working as a property dealer in R S Pura was arrested from Miran Sahib by a Police Party of Pacca Danga Police against a warrant issued u/s 512 CrPC by the City Court Jammu on 19-01-1988 in Case FIR No.161/1984 u/s 307/147/148/149 RPC 3/25 Arms Act P/S Pacca Danga.
On 23-06-1984, two rival notorious and defamed gangs of the old city that of Balraj Singh @ “Bhau” of Panjtirthi and Ashok Kumar @ “Binny” of Peermitha had a brief shootout and in the exchange of fire between them near Shakuntla theatre brother of “Bhau”, namely Ravinder Singh@Guddu was injured in the abdomen and hospitalized. Balraj Singh @“Bhau” had come near Shakuntla Theatre along with his brother Ravinder Singh@Guddu, Mohinder Singh, Choudhary Pehalwan and others, When their rival group headed by Ashok Kumar @ Binny along with his associates Mohammad Riaz of Jullaka Mohalla, Girdhari Lal of RS Pura and others came there and a brief shootout took place between the two groups after which they immediately ran away from the spot injuring Ravinder @ Guddu. Mohinder Singh has been produced in the City Court, Jammu today and has been sent to Judicial Lock-up.
Meanwhile District Police Kathua launched a drive to nab the Gamblers, today on 27.08.2011, a police party of PS Lakhanpur Kathua acting on a specific information under the supervision of SHO P/S Lakhanpur conducted a raid at Village Karroh (Kathua) and arrested three Gamblers namely Pawan kumar son of Vijay Kumar,Vipan Kumar son of Om Parkash and Vinod Kumar son of Joginder Paul all residence of Village Karroh and recovered Cash Rs.7650/- However Gambler namely Tara Singh son of Balwant Singh of Karroh managed to escape from the spot, efforts are on to arrest the accused.
