| Ladakh Festival 2026 Concludes on a Grand Note, Celebrating Culture | | Community and the Spirit of Ladakh | 
Leh, September 29 (Scoop News)-The three-day Ladakh Festival 2026 concluded in Leh on a vibrant and celebratory note, bringing together the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh and diverse artistic traditions from across India. The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from artists, village cultural groups, local communities, visitors and cultural enthusiasts, creating a memorable celebration rooted in Ladakh’s traditions, hospitality and collective spirit.
The concluding ceremony was graced by Sh. Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Secretary Tourism, UT Ladakh; Smt. Tashi Dolma, JKAS, Director Tourism, UT Ladakh; Sh. Mohd. Taqi, JKAS, Deputy Director Tourism, UT Ladakh; Sh. Fesal Iqbal Tantray, JKAS, Assistant Director Tourism, Leh; officials of the Department of Tourism; and other stakeholders associated with the festival.
The final day featured a colourful presentation of traditional music, folk dances and cultural expressions. Artists from the North Zone presented folk music and dance traditions from different parts of the country, while cultural groups from villages across Ladakh showcased their distinctive customs, folk heritage and artistic practices. The performances reflected the cultural richness of the region and brought the sounds, colours and traditions of Ladakh to the centre stage.
Throughout its three-day programme, the festival celebrated Ladakh not merely as a destination, but as a living cultural landscape shaped by its people, villages, traditions and shared heritage. Through music, dance, traditional performances and community participation, visitors were offered an opportunity to experience the cultural identity of Ladakh while also engaging with artistic traditions from other parts of India.
The festival also served as an important platform for local artists and cultural groups to present their traditions before wider audiences and interact with performers from different regions. This exchange strengthened the festival’s role as a common platform for cultural dialogue, mutual appreciation and the preservation and promotion of traditional art forms.
As part of the concluding ceremony, winners and participants of the various activities and competitions organised during the festival were felicitated by Sh. Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Secretary Tourism, UT Ladakh, and other dignitaries. Their enthusiastic involvement and contribution were recognised as an integral part of the festival’s success.
The concluding ceremony also witnessed the felicitation of distinguished individuals and stakeholders from across the tourism, hospitality, adventure and cultural sectors in recognition of their valuable contribution towards the successful organisation of Ladakh Festival 2026. Their continued support, commitment and partnership played a significant role in showcasing Ladakh’s cultural richness and ensuring the festival emerged as a vibrant celebration of community spirit and local heritage. Those honoured on the occasion included Ghulam Mustafa of Hotel Grand Dragon, Leh; Chewang Motup Goba of Rimo Adventure; filmmaker Stanzin Dorjai; Fida Ali of Hotel D'Zojila, Kargil; line producer and filmmaker Odpal George; Haji Mirza Hussain of Ansari Tours and Travels, Kargil; Ghulam Mohiuddin of Hotel Grand Dragon, Leh; Nawang Dorjee of Himalayan Eco Adventure; Tsering Wangchuk Kalon of Snow Leopard Trails; Sonam Dawa of Adventure Travel Mark; and Tundup Dorje of Overland Escape. Their contributions were acknowledged as exemplary demonstrations of partnership and dedication towards promoting Ladakh as a culturally vibrant and welcoming destination.
