| ICDS Project Nubra Organises Two-Day Training Programme | | for Anganwadi Workers-cum-Poshan Maah Celebration at Diskit |
Nubra, September 23 (Scoop News)-Two-day training programme for Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), cum Poshan Maah celebration, was organised by ICDS Project Nubra at the SDM Conference Hall, Diskit, Nubra.
The programme was graced by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra, Sh. Mohd Safdar Bhat, JKAS, as the Chief Guest. The event commenced with a traditional welcome of the Chief Guest and resource persons with khataks.
Smt. Sonam Nilza, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Nubra, delivered the welcome address and briefed the participants on the objectives of the training programme and the significance of Poshan Maah.
The training sessions focused on key topics, including the Poshan Tracker, Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, and the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child's life. Ms. Rigzin, Resource Person, provided valuable insights into IYCF practices and highlighted the critical role of the first 1,000 days in ensuring the optimal growth and development of children.
As part of the programme, Anganwadi Workers showcased various locally available nutritious foods, highlighting the importance of incorporating traditional and locally sourced food items into daily diets to promote better nutritional outcomes.
During the event, Smt. Rigzin Dolma, Anganwadi Worker, Diskit Skilkhor-1, was felicitated as a “Poshan Champion” in recognition of her dedicated service, commitment, and exemplary contribution towards the effective discharge of her duties.
In his address, SDM Nubra, highlighted the significance of Poshan Maah in promoting child health and nutrition. He emphasised that proper nutrition during the early years of life lays the foundation for a healthy society. He further stressed the importance of good nutritional practices and active community participation in achieving the goal of making Nubra Kuposhan Mukt (malnutrition-free).
