| Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat programme held at GDC Ganderbal | |
Srinagar, September 21 (Scoop News)-A Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Programme under the 100 Weeks Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan was organised recently by the NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal to sensitise students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, responsible and drug-free youth community.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, NSS Programme Officer. As part of the Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh, two major activities—Youth Pledge and Signature Campaign—were conducted. Around 40 students participated in the Youth Pledge, while 60 students participated in the Signature Campaign, expressing their commitment towards building a drug-free society.
Dr. Mansha Nisar, NSS Programme Officer, administered the pledge to the students. Dr. Farooq Ahmad delivered an informative and motivating address, highlighting the importance of preventing substance abuse and encouraging young people to make healthy, responsible and positive choices in life.
Dr. Rafiq Peerzada, Principal, GDC Ganderbal, addressed the gathering and emphasised the vital role of students and youth in building a healthy and drug-free society. He encouraged the students to spread awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse and contribute positively towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shabana Aslam, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, speaker, NSS team and participating students for their valuable contribution towards the successful conduct of the programme.
