| Yuva Connect Programme Held at GDC Ganderbal | | 
Ganderbal: September 17 (Scoop News)- A Yuva Connect Programme under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat initiative was organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal on Thursday under the aegis of My Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, with an aim to engage and empower youth while promoting a healthy, drug-free and responsible lifestyle.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 300 students, along with faculty members and NSS representatives. The event focused on creating awareness among young people about the adverse impact of substance abuse while encouraging healthy living, skill development, active youth participation and constructive engagement in nation-building activities.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, My Bharat Nodal Officer, who administered the My Bharat pledge to the participants. The pledge encouraged the youth to embrace responsible citizenship, make healthy choices and contribute positively towards society and the nation.
Mr. Gopal Namdeo, DYO, welcomed the gathering and addressed the participants, underlining the importance of meaningful youth engagement in addressing social challenges and building a responsible generation. Mr. Wasil Ayoub, My Bharat Representative, and Mr. Raj Pandey, Youth Icon Representative, also participated in the programme and interacted with the students, encouraging them to actively engage in initiatives aimed at personal development and community welfare.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rafiq Ahmad, Principal, GDC Ganderbal, highlighted the importance of youth-oriented programmes in creating awareness, fostering responsibility and providing young people with opportunities to contribute to society. He emphasized the significant role of the My Bharat initiative in connecting youth with meaningful activities and encouraging their active participation in the nation-building process.
Dr. Rafiq Ahmad also stressed the importance of creating a supportive environment in which young people can pursue education, develop skills and make informed choices for a healthy and productive future. He observed that empowering youth with awareness, opportunities and a strong sense of social responsibility is essential for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Dr. Mansha Nisar, NSS Representative, along with several faculty members, remained present during the programme and extended their support towards its successful conduct. The active participation of students reflected their interest in issues concerning youth well-being, social responsibility and the country's development journey.
The programme provided an important platform for interaction and awareness, reinforcing the message that a healthy and drug-free youth population is vital for building a stronger, more productive and developed nation. The Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat initiative seeks to encourage young people to reject substance abuse and channel their energy towards education, skills, innovation, community service and other constructive pursuits.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Senior Professor Dr. Tanveer, Department of Zoology, who expressed gratitude to the guests, My Bharat representatives, faculty members and students for their active participation and valuable support. He appreciated the collective efforts that contributed to the successful organization of the programme and emphasized the need for continued initiatives aimed at empowering youth and strengthening their role in nation-building.
