BJP Betrayed Shopkeepers of Satwari & Nai Basti: Rattan Lal Gupta

Jammu,September 11 (Scoop News)-Senior J&K National Conference leader and Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta Adv., has strongly condemned the demolition of shops belonging to shopkeepers of Satwari and Nai Basti, Jammu, alleging that the BJP has betrayed those whose livelihoods have been adversely affected.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that the BJP had given assurances to the affected shopkeepers regarding their rehabilitation and compensation, but failed to implement the commitments and orders made in their favour. He said the demolition of the shops has caused immense hardship to families dependent upon these establishments for their livelihood.

He demanded that the authorities immediately take concrete steps for the rehabilitation of the affected shopkeepers and payment of legitimate compensation, instead of leaving them in distress.

Gupta further criticised the BJP's “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan”, describing it as nothing more than a political exercise aimed at creating publicity and misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that genuine public service requires standing with people when they face hardship, rather than launching outreach campaigns after failing to address their real problems.

Gupta said that Sankalps and commitments made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Even Hon’ble Prime Minister Narender Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah made commitment in Parliament and outside Parliament and before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India for restoration of Statehood but there Sankalps and commitments have not been fulfilled till date.

He urged the BJP to stop indulging in what he termed “nautanki and frame-baazi” and instead honour its commitments to the people regarding restoration of Statehood and particularly the affected shopkeepers of Satwari and Nai Basti.
