| Chief Secretary Attends Teachers’ Day Celebration in Leh | | Appreciates Teachers’ Contribution to Education | Leh, September 05 (Scoop News)-Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra, today attended a Teachers’ Day celebration organised by the School Education Department, UT Ladakh, at Hotel The Zen Ladakh.
Extending his warm greetings to the teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Chief Secretary appreciated the dedication, commitment and selfless service of teachers towards shaping the future of students and strengthening the education system in Ladakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ashish Kundra highlighted the significant role of teachers in ensuring quality education and nurturing the intellectual, social and moral development of students. He stated that teachers are not only imparting academic knowledge but are also playing an important role in shaping the character, aspirations and future of the younger generation.
The Chief Secretary particularly appreciated the efforts of teachers working in remote and far-flung areas of Ladakh, including Changthang, Zanskar, Nubra and Drass. He acknowledged the challenges faced by teachers while serving in difficult geographical and climatic conditions and commended their commitment to providing quality education to students in these areas.
He urged the teachers to continue working with dedication, sincerity and a spirit of selfless service and called upon them to make every effort to improve learning outcomes in government schools. He emphasised the need for teachers to encourage students to pursue excellence, develop their skills and make the best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
Shri Kundra also stressed the importance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment in schools, where students are encouraged to think creatively, ask questions and develop confidence. He stated that strengthening the education system in Ladakh requires the collective efforts of teachers, educational administrators, parents and the community.
On the occasion, the Chief Secretary felicitated Assistant Professors of the Higher Education Department, teachers of the School Education Department and recently retired teachers in recognition of their valuable contribution, dedicated service and commitment to the education sector. He acknowledged their role in strengthening the foundations of education in the Union Territory and expressed appreciation for their continued contribution to society.
Earlier, Secretary, School Education Department, Smt. Bhanu Prabha, welcomed the Chief Secretary and other dignitaries and extended her greetings to the teaching fraternity. In her address, she highlighted the importance of Teachers’ Day and acknowledged the valuable contribution of teachers in ensuring quality and accessible education across Ladakh.
She appreciated the efforts of teachers working in remote areas and encouraged them to continue their dedicated service towards the academic and overall development of students.
Director, School Education Department, Shri Tsering Paldan, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary, senior officers, teachers and all participants for their presence and contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
