| CGHS Ayurvedic WC opens at Jammu, CGPWA demands more WCs in UT | |
Jammu, August 28 (Scoop News)-The Central Govt pensioners Welfare Association, Jammu(CGPWA) has hailed the establishment of the CGHS Ayurvedic Wellness Centre at Jammu and thanked The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda and Union Minister of State for Pension and Pensioners Welfare & PMO Dr Jatinder Singh for accepting the long-pending demand.
It is set up in the premises of the existing CGHS Wellness Centre-2, Trikuta Nagar and is headed by Dr. Jitender Dhiman. With this, CGHS beneficiaries especially the central Govt pensioners, benefit greatly from the extension of this facility.
The CGPWA has expressed concern over increasing OPD in both Wellness Centres in Jammu and urged the UT Govt and the CGHS to open more Wellness Centres in J&K UT to provide CGHS facility in other districts also including Jammu.
In a statement, the General Secretary KB Jandial today appealed to the Health Ministers of India and J&K UT, take note of emerging situation following joining of a large number of UT pensioners (retired after Oct 2019) and said the President CGPWA Kuldeep Khoda has already met the UT Health Minister Shakeena Itoo and apprised her of the problems of pensioners including inadequate infrastructure of CGHS limited to three Wellness Centres- two in Jammu & one in Kashmir . The statement also urged UT Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and UT Health Secretary M Raju and DG CGHS Director General (Addl. Secretary H&FW) Dr (Ms) Vinod Kotwal to expedite the UT proposal to facilitate establishment of about ten more Wellness centres in different districts by providing accommodation inn GMCs & District Hospitals, and said it is an appropriate solution to address the growing problem.
Jandial recalled that the CGPWA had raised this issue at 35th meeting of SCOVA held in Delhi, and Dr Jatinder Singh who chaired the meeting, also shared the concern and impressed upon CGHS authorities to urgently look into the matter. He had also supported opening two Wellness Centres in Ladakh, one each in Leh and Kargil as raised by general Secretary CGHS at the meeting. The CGPWA urges the CGHS to take urgent action on these issues.
