BJP felicitates talented Cricketers selected to represent India at Indo-Thai Open Championship


Jammu, August 25 (Scoop News)-J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma CA, along with J&K BJP General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, felicitated talented cricketers Gaurav Majotra, Naman Sharma and Gurminder of Redhima Sports Club, who have been selected to represent India at the Indo-Thai Open Cricket Championship 2026.

Felicitating the young cricketers, Sat Sharma said that their selection to represent India is a matter of immense pride for Jammu & Kashmir and reflects the region’s growing sporting talent. He said that the youth of J&K possess tremendous potential and, with the right opportunities, training and encouragement, they can excel not only at the national level but also bring laurels to the country on international platforms.

“Our talented youth are the real strength of Jammu & Kashmir. The selection of Gaurav Majotra, Naman Sharma and Gurminder to represent India is a proud moment for the entire region. Their achievement demonstrates that Jammu & Kashmir has no dearth of sporting talent. We must create an ecosystem where young sportspersons receive continuous encouragement, infrastructure and opportunities to compete at higher levels,” Sat Sharma said.

Sharma further stated that the BJP remains committed to promoting sports and empowering the youth through opportunities that channel their energy, discipline and talent towards constructive pursuits. He congratulated the players and their families, wishing them success in the championship and expressing confidence that they would make J&K and India proud through their performance and sportsmanship.

Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the achievement of the three cricketers is a source of inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across Jammu. He said that such achievements prove that dedication, hard work and perseverance can take local talent to international platforms.

Gopal Mahajan congratulated the players and said that their selection is a significant recognition of their talent and commitment to the sport. He called upon young people to pursue sports with determination and discipline.

Ajay Sharma, Convenor, Redhima Sports Club, said that the selection of Gaurav Majotra, Naman Sharma and Gurminder is a proud achievement for the club and the Jammu sporting fraternity. He expressed confidence that the players would perform with distinction and bring further glory to the region.

Co-Convenor Lavdeep Pathania and Co-Convenor Charanjeet Singh were also present on the occasion.
