| Administrative Secretary, HUDD Inspects Development Projects in Leh | |
Leh, August 24 (Scoop News)- Administrative Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), UT Ladakh, Shri Arava Gopi Krishna, today inspected various ongoing developmental and infrastructure projects being executed by the department in Leh and reviewed their progress, quality and utilisation.
The Administrative Secretary first visited the under-construction Office Complex at Dambuchan, Agling, Leh, where he inspected the ongoing construction works and took stock of the progress made so far. He directed the concerned officers and executing agency to expedite the remaining works and ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining the prescribed quality standards.
He subsequently visited the under-construction Slaughterhouse at Bombay Garh, Housing Colony, Leh, and inspected various sections of the facility. He reviewed the status of the remaining works and directed the concerned officials to complete the project at the earliest. He further emphasised the need to ensure optimum utilisation of the facility and directed the officers to engage and sensitise local butchers of Leh regarding its use once operational.
The Administrative Secretary also inspected the New Transport Stand at Bombay Garh, Housing Colony, where he reviewed the existing bus stand and other transport facilities. Taking note of the requirements and future demand, he directed the concerned officers to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the expansion and improvement of the bus stand at the earliest.
Later, he visited the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) and inspected its various sections and operational facilities. He reviewed the functioning of the plant and took a detailed appraisal of its treatment processes, capacity and overall operations. The Site In-charge briefed the Administrative Secretary on the functioning of the plant and the activities being undertaken for the scientific treatment and management of faecal sludge.
During the inspections, the Administrative Secretary stressed the importance of timely completion of ongoing projects, proper utilisation of public infrastructure and effective coordination among the concerned departments and executing agencies. He directed the officers to closely monitor the progress of works and address any bottlenecks to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timelines and serve their intended purpose.
The Administrative Secretary was accompanied by Assistant Director, Urban Local Bodies Department, Stanzin Rabgais; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh-cum-Under Secretary, HUDD, Atul Singh Mankotia, JKAS besides other concerned officers and officials of the Municipal Committee Leh.
