CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon Calls on J&K Bank Chief General Manager
Discusses Banking Services and Improved Customer Service in Kargil

Kargil, August 19 (Scoop News)-Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today paid a courtesy call on Chief General Manager, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Sunit Kumar. Cluster Head of J&K Bank, Kargil, Ishfaq Sarwar Malik, was also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, Dr. Akhoon discussed various issues concerning J&K Bank’s banking services in Kargil, along with ongoing and proposed projects under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Emphasizing the importance of these initiatives for the socio-economic development of Kargil, the CEC highlighted key areas where the Bank’s support could make a meaningful difference to the local community.

A major issue discussed was the proposal for a special recruitment drive for local youth of Kargil in J&K Bank. Dr. Akhoon stressed that providing greater employment opportunities to local youth would not only strengthen the local workforce but also contribute to more customer-friendly banking services, improved service delivery and better customer care, given their familiarity with the local community and its needs.

The CEC also requested the opening of new branches and banking outlets, particularly in rural and underserved areas. He further called for the urgent opening of an ATM near the Council Secretariat, Kargil, considering the growing demand in the area due to the presence of various government departments and educational institutions.

Dr. Akhoon also emphasized the need to further strengthen the Bank’s network and improve banking infrastructure, accessibility and customer service across Kargil, particularly in remote and rural areas.

Responding to the issues raised, Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar assured that J&K Bank would extend all possible support and services. He also emphasized the importance of collective efforts and continued cooperation between the Bank and LAHDC Kargil for mutual growth and the overall development of the region.
