CGPWA’s Nasha Mukt, Student Mentorship Initiative at GHSS Channi Himmat
Jammu,August 04 (Scoop News)- The Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) and Govt Higher Secondary School (GHSS)Channi Himmat have agreed on a partnership to launch two major initiatives to benefit the students.
This was decided at a Green-Drive function held at GHSS) Channi Himmat today. This arrangement was decided between the CGPWA team led by its President Kuldeep Khoda and the Officiating Principal of the School Mrs. Kiran Pradhan and her teaching faculty.
Under this initiative the CGPWA will conduct interactive mentorship sessions to help senior students crack UT- and national-level competitive examinations. Senior members of the CGPWA will guide the students of higher classes about selecting professional careers and give tips for cracking premier competitive examinations of J&K UT and national level. This initiative was launched at BALGRAN, home for destitutes children.
Continuing with the Nasha Mukt campaign launched by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, the CGPWA will also organise events on drug abuse and sensitise the teachers and students about it which have ruined families. Experts and counsellors will deliver awareness lectures and available facilities of rehabilitation of trapped youth. The CGPWA has already undertaken successfully these programs in Rajeev Nagar school for children of slum dwellers and school for Hearing Handicapped run by the J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra.
A fortnight ago, the Centre for Activities for Advanced, Strong and Progressive India ( CAASPI ), a sister organisation of CGPWA, has sensitised the Principals of about 45 Kendriya Vidyalaya of J&K and Ladakh UTs at their conference at Vijaypur. Nasha Mukt is one of its mandates
