| District Congress Committee Jammu Rural Launches Plantation Drive from Bishnah Constituency | |
Jammu, August 02 (Scoop News)- District Congress Committee Jammu Rural under the leadership of Neeraj Kundan, today launched a plantation drive beginning from Block Miran Sahib.
The programme was organised by Khushwant Singh, President of the All India Youth Congress (AYC), with active participation from local leadership.
Minority Cell Chairman Nathu Singh,Block President Miran Sahib Gurmeet Singh and Block President Bishnah Vijay Tagotra were present on the occasion. Volunteers and party workers planted saplings at designated sites and also distributed plants among residents to encourage wider community involvement in greening efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Kundan emphasised the critical importance of protecting the environment. He stated: “Our responsibility towards nature cannot be postponed. Every sapling we plant today is an investment in cleaner air, better soil, and a healthier future for the next generation. The Congress party remains committed to practical steps that safeguard our environment while involving the people of Jammu at the grassroots. I urge every citizen to join this mission of plantation and conservation so that we leave behind a greener and more sustainable Jammu for our children.”
The drive forms part of a broader initiative by District Jammu Rural Congress to promote environmental awareness and collective action across rural blocks. Party workers expressed determination to expand the campaign to other areas in the coming days, combining plantation with public outreach on the need to protect local ecosystems.
The programme concluded with an appeal for sustained community participation to ensure the survival and growth of the newly planted trees.
