MP Mohmad Haneefa Jan Chairs DISHA Meeting to Review Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Leh

Leh, July 18 (Scoop News)-MP from Ladakh, Haji Mohmad Haneefa Jan, today chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner's Office, Leh, to review the implementation and progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and developmental programmes in the district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, IAS; Additional District Development Commissioner Leh, Rigzin Spalgon, JKAS; Additional Superintendent of Police, Rishab Shukla IPS; Chief Planning Officer Leh, Konchok Gyalson; members of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC), heads of concerned departments, and other stakeholders.

At the outset, Deputy Commissioner Leh presented an overview of the physical and financial progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented across the district. This was followed by departmental presentations and an interactive review session, during which Hon'ble MP, along with DDCMC members and other stakeholders, held detailed discussions with the concerned departments on the implementation, progress, achievements, challenges, and public outreach of various flagship schemes.

The meeting reviewed the progress of major schemes including Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban and Rural), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban and Gramin), PM SVANidhi, Samagra Shiksha, PM SHRI Schools, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Hostels, Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, National Health Mission, Poshan 2.0, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, PMGSY, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), National Food Security Mission, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Antyodaya Anna Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, and the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, among other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

During the review, Hon'ble MP sought updates on the implementation and functionality of various schemes, particularly those directly benefiting rural communities. Discussions focused on improving the execution of Jal Jeevan Mission projects, strengthening solid waste management and waste-to-compost initiatives, enhancing healthcare infrastructure and specialist services, promoting quality education and nutrition, improving rural connectivity, and ensuring effective implementation of agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and other livelihood-related programmes.

DDCMC members also put forth suggestions and highlighted public concerns relating to employment generation, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and other developmental issues. Hon'ble MP gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured the members that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned authorities. Hon'ble MP further emphasized the need to intensify awareness of Government schemes at the grassroots level so that all eligible beneficiaries are able to avail themselves of the benefits. He also directed that the agenda and proceedings of the meeting be shared with the members within five to six days to facilitate timely follow-up.

Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, informed the meeting that the minutes of the meeting would be circulated at the earliest and directed all concerned departments to submit Action Taken Reports (ATRs) within 30 days. He assured that the issues and grievances raised during the meeting would be addressed through a coordinated follow-up mechanism, ensuring that the deliberations translate into meaningful outcomes.
