| Modi-led Government Has Failed on All Fronts During Its Twelve Years in Power : Rattan Lal | |
Jammu, June 10 (Scoop News)-The Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta said that the twelve-year rule of the BJP-led Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to deliver on several major promises made to the people of India. The Government came to power promising employment, economic prosperity, women's empowerment, farmers' welfare, and corruption-free governance. However, the ground reality presents a different picture.
Issued a statement at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu Mr Rattan Lal Gupta said that Unemployment continues to remain one of the biggest challenges facing the country. Millions of educated youth are struggling to secure jobs despite repeated assurances of large-scale employment generation. The growing frustration among job seekers reflects the failure of the Government's economic and employment policies.
The promise of doubling farmers' income has remained largely unfulfilled. Rising costs of fertilizers, seeds, diesel, and agricultural inputs have increased the burden on farmers, while returns from agricultural produce have not kept pace. Farmers across the country continue to face financial distress.
Women's empowerment, which was highlighted as a priority, has not translated into adequate economic opportunities and security for women. A large section of women still struggles for employment, financial independence, and equal participation in the workforce.
The Indian Rupee has witnessed significant depreciation against the US Dollar over the years, increasing the cost of imports and putting pressure on the economy. This has also contributed to inflationary trends affecting common citizens.
Price rise has become a major concern for every household. The prices of essential commodities, cooking gas, edible oils, vegetables, and other daily necessities have increased substantially, adversely affecting the middle class, salaried employees, farmers, labourers, and economically weaker sections.
Another serious concern is the repeated incidents of paper leaks in competitive examinations. Such incidents have shattered the dreams of lakhs of students and job aspirants who spend years preparing for examinations. These failures have undermined confidence in the recruitment system and created uncertainty among the youth.
The country has also witnessed several instances of financial irregularities and scams that have raised serious questions regarding transparency and accountability in governance.
Jammu and Kashmir, once known for its unique identity, rich culture, and constitutional guarantees, has been reduced to a Union Territory, thereby diminishing the powers of the elected Government and weakening democratic institutions. Such actions raise serious concerns about the future of federalism and democratic governance in the country.
The people of India deserve answers and effective governance rather than mere slogans and publicity. The Government must acknowledge its shortcomings, address the pressing concerns of unemployment, inflation, farmers' welfare, women's empowerment, examination reforms, and economic stability, and work sincerely for the welfare of all sections of society. ... |
