Dry Run Conducted in Leh for May 11 Departure and May 13
Return of Sacred Relics Between Leh and Zanskar


Leh, May 08(Scoop News)-A comprehensive dry run for the onward and return movement of the Sacred Relics between Leh and Zanskar was conducted today to review security, convoy movement and logistical preparedness ahead of the scheduled programmes on May 11 and May 13.

The exercise was led by Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Culture, UT Ladakh, along with DySP DAR Padma Dorjey and senior officials from the Police, Security Wing, Civil Administration and allied departments. Representatives from the Air Force Station Leh, Civil Aviation Department, Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gompa Association, Zanskar Buddhist Association, International Buddhist Confederation, National Museum and Cultural Academy also participated in the rehearsal.

The dry run covered the designated routes from Jivetsal, Choglamsar to Sindhu Ghat and from Sindhu Ghat back to the Dharma Centre, Leh, for both the Leh to Zanskar movement on May 11 and the return journey from Zanskar to Leh on May 13. Officials assessed arrangements related to route clearance, convoy regulation, crowd management, emergency response systems, communication networks and overall coordination for the movement of the Holy Relics.

The rehearsal was conducted as part of the preparations for the departure of the Sacred Relics to Zanskar and their subsequent return to Leh during the ongoing Sacred Relic Exposition in Ladakh.
