Three-Day Training Programme for Field Trainers of Census 2027 Concludes in Kargil

Kargil, May 04 (Scoop News)- A three-day training programme for Field Trainers for the upcoming Census 2027 concluded today at the New Hall of NIC, Kargil.

The valedictory session was held in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Sh. Rakesh Kumar (IAS); Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Shabir Hussain (JKAS); Chief Planning Officer, Sh. Kacho Mohd Hussain; and officials from the District Statistics and Evaluation Office (DSEO), Kargil.

The Principal Census Officer (PCO) was briefed about the proceedings of the training programme by Sh. Vijay Kumar, Master Trainer for Census 2027, who highlighted the comprehensive coverage of key aspects during the three-day session.

The training included detailed orientation on Census Acts and Rules, house listing operations, questionnaire handling, registration processes, and use of digital tools such as the HLO application. Queries raised by participants, including technical staff, were also addressed thoroughly.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Field Trainers play a crucial role in effectively imparting training to Enumerators and Supervisors. He stressed that high-quality and thorough training is essential, as these functionaries are pivotal to the successful conduct of Census 2027.

Highlighting the importance of data accuracy, the DC instructed all concerned officers to ensure careful and precise data collection. He urged them to take enumerators into confidence so they can motivate citizens to provide complete and accurate information.

The Deputy Commissioner further emphasized the importance of the Self-Enumeration process and directed officers to ensure adequate preparations by reaching out to eminent personalities of the district to promote and encourage wider participation in Self-Enumeration.

On the final day of the programme, trainees visited the nearby Baroo area, where they undertook hands-on field training using the HLO application, gaining practical experience in real-time data collection procedures.

The training programme concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing satisfaction over the comprehensive sessions. The initiative is expected to strengthen coordination and enhance efficiency in the forthcoming census operations, contributing significantly to the success of Census 2027 at both district and national levels.
