| PSA Extends Full Support To LG Manoj Sinha’s Nasha Mukt Abhiyan | | Strengthens Anti-Drug Awareness In Schools | Srinagar, April 30 (Scoop News)-In a significant step towards strengthening the fight against substance abuse, the Private Schools’ Association (PSA) has extended its full support to the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha across Jammu & Kashmir. In this regard, the Private Schools’ Association (PSA), led by its State President Bilal Ahmad Bhat, along with JK Unaided Private Schools President Showkat Chowdhary, General Secretary Srinagar District Parvaiz Ahmad Lone, PRO B.A. Shah and other members, held an important meeting at the Directorate of School Education Kashmir to deliberate on the effective and coordinated rollout of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan across the Jammu & Kashmir.
The interaction focused on building meaningful and result-oriented collaboration between the School Education Department and private educational institutes to intensify awareness among students, educators and the wider community regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse. The discussion emphasized the need for integrating preventive education into the academic environment and fostering a culture of awareness, vigilance and responsibility among youth.
Appreciating the proactive and visionary approach of the government in addressing this pressing social challenge, the PSA extended its full support and commitment to the mission. The association underlined that educational institutions play a pivotal role in shaping the mindset of young individuals and can serve as powerful platforms to drive the vision of a drug-free society.
PSA President Bilal Ahmad Bhat stated, “The Nasha Mukt Abhiyan is not just a campaign but a social responsibility that demands collective action. Private schools across Jammu & Kashmir stand firmly with the government in this noble mission. We are committed to mobilizing our institutions to create sustained awareness, promote preventive education and actively engage students as ambassadors of change in their communities.”
On the occasion, the PSA also announced its active involvement in a series of school-level and inter-district initiatives, where students from various districts will take the lead in organizing awareness campaigns, counseling sessions, programs and community outreach activities. These initiatives aim to strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure that the message of a drug-free society reaches every corner of the Jammu & Kashmir.
PSA General Secretary M. Syed Wani said, “Awareness is the first and most powerful step towards prevention. Through structured programs in schools, we can equip our students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices and resist negative influences. PSA will ensure that every affiliated institution becomes a center of awareness and guidance.”
