| Earth Day 2026 Celebrations at IUST | |
Awantipora, April 20 (Scoop News)-The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, is set to celebrate Earth Day 2026 on April 22, with the aim of engaging youth and other stakeholders in environmental sustainability and responsible stewardship. This year’s celebrations will be held under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”
Ms. Sakina Masood Itoo, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, School Education, Health & Medical Education & Social Welfare Departments, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The event will feature a series of engaging activities, including poster and essay competitions, among others, with participation from students of various educational institutions. A plantation drive will also be organized as part of the celebrations, reinforcing the university’s focus on campus greening and ecological responsibility.
Bringing together academicians, policymakers, and students, the occasion will serve as a platform to reflect on sustainable practices and strengthen collective efforts towards carbon neutrality, renewable energy adoption, and a greener future.
