| Hakeem Yaseen Expresses Grief Over Zojila Avalanche Tragedy | | Urges swift relief, calls for stronger safety measures in vulnerable areas | Srinagar, March 27 (Scoop News)- Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, on Friday expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic snow avalanche incident at Zojila Pass in Ganderbal district.
In a statement, Yaseen termed the incident as “deeply unfortunate” and extended his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Referring to the incident, he said that a snow avalanche struck the Zojila Pass area, trapping several vehicles under snow and debris and causing loss of lives and injuries. He stressed the need for heightened vigilance and preventive measures in avalanche-prone areas, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Yaseen urged the administration to ensure swift rescue and relief operations and provide all possible assistance to the affected families.
He also called for strengthening early warning systems and improving safety protocols on vulnerable routes to prevent such incidents in future.
Hakeem further appealed to commuters to strictly follow advisories issued by authorities and avoid travel in high-risk zones during adverse weather conditions.
