| EJM College Leh organized the flag-off ceremony of its Academic Exposure | | Leh, Ladakh,February 19 (Scoop News)-The Department of Social Work, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College (EJM College), Leh, organized the flag-off ceremony of its Academic Exposure and Field Learning Visit to New Delhi under the banner of PM-USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan).
The tour was formally flagged off by Ms. Bhanu Prabha IAS, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, UT Ladakh, in the gracious presence of Prof. Stanzin Yangdol Principal, EJM College Leh, and Dr. Sameena Iqbal, State Programme Director, PM-USHA.
A total of 12 students from the 5th Semester, Department of Social Work, along with two faculty coordinators — Dr. Yangchan Dolma, Head of the Department, and Mr. Jaspreet Singh, Assistant Professor — will be participating in this academic exposure visit.
The visit aims to provide students with practical field exposure, institutional interaction, and academic exchange with premier social work institutions and organizations in New Delhi. The programme is designed to enhance students’ understanding of professional social work practices, policy frameworks, community interventions, and research culture.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Bhanu Prabha emphasized the importance of experiential learning and exposure to diverse field realities for strengthening professional competence among students. Prof. Stanzin Yangdol highlighted the role of PM-USHA in promoting quality enhancement and academic excellence in higher education institutions across Ladakh. Dr. Sameena Iqbal appreciated the initiative of the Department of Social Work in integrating classroom learning with field-based experiences.
The Academic Exposure and Field Learning Visit reflects the institution’s commitment to holistic education, skill development, and inclusive professional training under the PM-USHA framework.
