| Chief Secretary reviews implementation of flagship schemes across UT Ladakh | |
Leh, February 07 (Scoop News)-The Chief Secretary of the UT-Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of various flagship schemes across the Union Territory.
During the meeting, agendas related to the Education, Power Development, Financial Inclusion, Social Welfare, Urban Development, Health, and Tourism sectors were discussed in detail.
In the Education sector, the meeting reviewed the Samagra Shiksha programme, focusing on key educational indicators such as the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER), dropout rates, and the Performance Grading Index (PGI). The progress of skill development initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and the status of the new ITI upgradation scheme were also examined.
In the Power sector, the Chief Secretary reviewed the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana for residential households and government buildings. The meeting also assessed the progress under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), including smart metering and other related power infrastructure works, along with key issues requiring attention.
Under Financial Inclusion, the progress of schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) was reviewed.
The meeting further examined the implementation of social welfare and nutrition-related schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Discussions were held on the functioning of the POSHAN Tracker, the nutritional profile of beneficiaries, existing manpower vacancies, and the progress under the Saksham Anganwadi initiative.
In the Urban Development sector, the status of projects under AMRUT was reviewed, with a focus on approved Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), issuance of tenders (NITs), points requiring attention, and the need for effective monitoring. The Chief Secretary also reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
The meeting deliberated on health-related schemes, including the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and the implementation model of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Under the National Health Mission (NHM), the Chief Secretary reviewed the current status, key issues, suggestions, and the proposed action plan for strengthening healthcare delivery in the UT.
Under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), discussions were held on the establishment of co-located AYUSH units, the financial status, components of total funds received, utilisation of funds, and amounts remitted and various other tourism-related agendas were discussed during the meeting.
