Police Observes Thana Diwas in Budgam, Awantipora

Srinagar, January 29 (Scoop News)-As part of the public outreach programme, police have observed Thana Diwas across District Budgam and PD Awantipora, with the objective of strengthening police–public relations and promoting community policing.

In Budgam, Thana Diwa was organized at all police stations and police posts, chaired by the respective jurisdictional officers and witnessed active participation from local residents. Similarly in Awantipora, Thana Diwas was organized across the Police District, and the meetings were chaired by the respective jurisdictional police officers and attended by various public representatives, members of trade associations, and other respectable citizens of the concerned areas.

During these meetings, various public grievances and policing-related issues were raised, which were patiently heard by the officers concerned. The public was assured that all genuine issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner. Citizens were also urged to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and public order, preventing crime, curbing drug abuse and identifying anti-social elements.

Police reaffirmed its commitment to people-friendly policing and stated that such outreach programmes will continue in the future in the interest of public service and community welfare.
