| ADC Kargil flags-off Boys Handball team for 69th National School Games | |
Kargil, January 20 (Scoop News)-Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho flagged off the Under-19 Boys Handball team today to represent Ladakh in the 69th National School Games scheduled to be held in Gujarat from January 26 to January 31.
The ADC was informed that a total of 15 students will represent Ladakh at the national level, including 09 players from Kargil district and 06 players from Leh district.
During the brief interaction with the players, the ADC encouraged the students and highlighted the importance of participation in national-level sports events. He said that exposure through travel and competition helps broaden one’s vision and builds confidence. He asked the players to uphold discipline and sportsmanship and asked them to make the name of Kargil and whole Ladakh region famous wherever they go and whoever they meet.
The ADC emphasized that sports is all about learning, stating that winning and losing are both part of the game. He also called upon the players to act as ambassadors of the district in the fight against drug menace, stressing the role of youth in building a healthy and drug-free society.
