| DC Leh Chairs Review Meeting on Jal Jeevan Mission | |
Leh, January 15 (Scoop News)-Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sh. Romil Singh Donk, today chaired a review meeting at Chamber of DC Office, Leh, to review the Action Taken Report (ATR) of the JJM Review Meeting held on 06 January 2026.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the Preparatory Meetings with States/UTs scheduled from 12th to 16th January, 2026, in connection with the Policy Dialogue on Operation & Maintenance Policies of States/UTs. The functioning of Village Water Sanitation Committees reforms (VWSCs) in Ladakh for effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was also reviewed.
The meeting further reviewed various JJM parameters related to community participation and functionality of household tap connections, as discussed in the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) meetings. Special emphasis was laid on Seva Aankalan, a village-level assessment of drinking water services focusing on regularity, adequacy, and quality of water supply.
Other key agenda items included Jal Arpan Diwas, Sujalam Bharat IDs, and the re-constitution of Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) in Leh District.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that a follow-up review meeting would be held, which will also include Block Development Officers (BDOs) to ensure better coordination at the grassroots level. He directed all concerned officers to complete pending works within the stipulated timelines and ensure effective implementation of JJM in the district.
