| Smile Foundation-CDSL-Ladakh organizes an awareness programme on Myopia and Cataract | | Gya-Miru Village, Ladakh,January 09 (Scoop News)-Smile Foundation, in collaboration with the CDSL-Ladakh Team, successfully organised an awareness programme on Myopia and Cataract in Gya-Miru Village, Ladakh. The programme aimed to educate the local community about prevention, early detection, and management of common eye disorders. A total of 25 beneficiaries participated in the event.
The awareness session was led by Dr. Junaid Fayaz (MBBS), who delivered an interactive and informative talk. He highlighted the early signs and symptoms of Myopia and Cataract, emphasised the importance of timely diagnosis, and explained key preventive measures. Dr. Fayaz also provided practical guidance on regular eye check-ups and effective monitoring to manage these conditions and prevent complications.
Local residents actively participated throughout the session, showing keen interest in learning about eye health. Beneficiaries raised relevant questions related to Myopia and Cataract, which helped foster a deeper understanding of the conditions. The programme successfully addressed and dispelled common misconceptions surrounding eye disorders and reinforced the critical role of early diagnosis and treatment.
Participants expressed their gratitude to Smile Foundation and the CDSL-Ladakh Team for bringing essential healthcare awareness services to their village and for their continued support to underserved communities.

Leh, Ladakh: The Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Union Territory of Ladakh, signed a Non-Financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Firgun Social Initiative Foundation to support market-driven capacity building of beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the districts of Leh and Kargil.
The MoU was signed by Sh. Mohd Ashraf Bhatt, JKAS, Director, Industries & Commerce, UT Ladakh, in the presence of Sh. Shafiq Ahmad, JKAS, General Manager, DIC Kargil. The collaboration was facilitated by SL-PMU PM Vishwakarma Ladakh.
The MoU aims to enhance entrepreneurial, financial, and digital skills of artisans and craftsmen through structured training programmes, while also supporting mobilisation, identification, and formation of trade-based business clusters under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. As part of the collaboration, Firgun Social Initiative Foundation will conduct free and voluntary workshops on digital marketing, e-commerce, bookkeeping, and business management, along with facilitating certification of participants in coordination with the MSME Technology Centre, Greater Noida. The Directorate of Industries & Commerce will provide coordination and mobilization support without any financial involvement.
