| Awareness Program on Drug Abuse and Preventive Measures held at Taxi Stand, Kargil | |
Kargil, January 08 (Scoop News)- Drugs De-addiction Centre Kargil (DDAC) in collaboration with IKMT, JUIAK & Taxi Operators Union Kargil organized an awareness program on drug abuse and its preventive measures at Taxi Stand, Kargil. Drivers from the Taxi Union, Bus Union, Tata Mobile Union, 407 Union, and other transport unions actively participated in the program.
The program began with an introductory speech by the Project Coordinator, DDAC Kargil, who highlighted the growing concern of drug abuse in Kargil District. He also informed the participants about the free treatment facilities available at the DDAC Centre for individuals facing drug addiction and encouraged those in need to seek timely help. He further advised everyone to remain alert and stay away from harmful substances.
Shiekh Bashir Shakiri, representative of IKMT, addressed all the union drivers and delivered a strong message on the causes and dangers of drug abuse. He emphasized its serious impact on individuals, families, and society and urged everyone to fulfill their social and moral responsibilities to prevent the spread of this menace. He also called for cooperation with the District De-Addiction Centre, Kargil, in spreading awareness and guiding the younger generation in the right direction.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the In-charge President of the Taxi Union, who expressed sincere gratitude to DDAC Kargil and the religious organizations for their dedicated efforts in raising awareness and guiding the younger generation toward a healthy and responsible future.
