JBM Resolves to Launch United Crusade Against Drug Menace in Jammu; Announces Official Website

Jammu, January 01 (Scoop News)- In a decisive move to combat the deteriorating social landscape of the region, the Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JBM) held a meeting today under the chairmanship of Former Legislator and Senior Advocate, Ashok Sharma. The forum deliberated on pressing regional issues, culminating in a landmark resolution to launch a massive public crusade against the drug epidemic and the unveiling of an upcoming official website to streamline public engagement.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Ashok Sharma expressed grave concern over the alarming and predatory rise of drug abuse, specifically the spread of Chitta. He reaffirmed JBM’s commitment to protecting Jammu’s moral and cultural fabric, announcing that the forum will spearhead a grassroots movement to dismantle drug-peddling networks. "When the collective will of the people unites, no criminal element can withstand it," Sharma asserted. "JBM will not remain a silent spectator while narcotics devastate our families. We are launching a mass awareness campaign to expose the consequences of addiction and mobilize the public against this existential threat."
The meeting highlighted the direct correlation between rising drug addiction and the surge in local crime rates. Key leaders provided a sobering assessment of the current situation. Dr. Kuldeep Sharma, Chief Spokesperson & Advisor warned that there is not a single minute to waste, noting that drug peddlers are systematically trapping youth in a cycle of despair and untimely death.
Satish Poonci, Vice President emphasized that an addicted youth becomes an instrument of destruction for their family and the broader community, leading to a breakdown of social order.
In a significant step toward modernization and transparency, the JBM launched and announced its official website today with the address “www.jbmjk.in”. This platform will serve as a hub for reporting grievances and sharing information on social evils, disseminating educational resources on drug prevention, coordinating volunteer efforts across the Jammu province along with dozens of other specifications.
The resolution received unanimous backing from prominent members and intellectuals, including Advocate H.C. Jalmeria, Romesh Chander Sharma, Dr. Yes Paul Sharma, Baljeet Singh Manhas, Arjun Sharma and Nakul Sharma, Advocates, Ritik Kumar and Vijay Choudhary, etc.
The meeting concluded with a solemn pledge to intensify awareness campaigns and work relentlessly toward a safer, healthier, and crime-free Jammu.
