Bhalla urges action on public issues, vows Congress will stand with citizens
Stresses accountability, development and timely fulfillment of govt promises

Jammu, December 29 (Scoop News)- Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla has once again underscored the critical public issues confronting the citizens of the Union Territory. Speaking at corner meetings in various areas of RS Pura Jammu South constituency, Bhalla highlighted that while the region continues to face numerous socio-economic challenges, many promises made by successive governments—both Union and erstwhile State—remain unfulfilled. He stressed that Congress will continue to raise these concerns at every level, from legislative platforms to public outreach, ensuring that the voice of the people is not ignored.

Bhalla pointed out that unemployment and lack of livelihood opportunities remain among the most pressing concerns for youth and families across J&K. Despite repeated assurances, job creation programs, skill development initiatives, and incentives for local entrepreneurs have not been fully implemented. “Thousands of young graduates remain without employment while talent goes unutilized. The government must act decisively to create jobs and revive the industrial and service sectors,” he stated.

The Working President also highlighted crumbling infrastructure and inadequate public services. Roads in remote and hilly areas continue to remain in poor condition, while electricity and water supply disruptions cause daily hardships for households. Schools and healthcare facilities in far-flung regions still suffer from shortage of staff, lack of equipment, and poor maintenance. “Children should not have to travel long distances to attend school or receive medical care. Citizens deserve access to basic services in their own neighborhoods,” Bhalla emphasized.

Raman Bhalla drew attention to the plight of farmers, horticulturists, and small-scale industries in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite assurances from both the Union and State Governments, procurement policies, subsidies, and incentive schemes have largely remained on paper. Local industries, handicraft units, and artisans—who form the backbone of the region’s economy—face uncertainty and declining income. “The government must ensure timely implementation of all welfare and incentive programs for farmers and artisans, so that economic growth benefits every citizen,” Bhalla asserted.

The JKPCC leader also raised concerns regarding law and order, safety of women, senior citizens, and vulnerable communities, along with urban civic issues such as solid waste management, street lighting, and traffic congestion. Citizens are often left to fend for themselves in matters that directly affect their daily life. Bhalla urged both the Union and State Governments to prioritize community safety, responsive policing, and modern civic infrastructure to ensure peaceful and orderly living conditions.

Raman Bhalla reiterated that the Congress Party has consistently taken up public issues, whether through legislative debates, public demonstrations, grievance camps, or outreach campaigns. He emphasized that Congress will not remain a silent spectator to administrative negligence or unfulfilled government promises. The party has been actively documenting citizen grievances, raising them with authorities, and mobilizing citizens to demand accountability. “Our efforts are rooted in the belief that governance should be people-centric, transparent, and responsive,” he said.

Bhalla strongly directed both the Union Government and the J&K Administration to urgently implement all pending promises—whether regarding employment schemes, infrastructure projects, farmer incentives, or industrial policies. He stressed that citizens cannot wait indefinitely for the assurances that were repeatedly made by officials. “Promises without action erode public trust. Congress will continue to fight for justice, development, and dignity of the people of J&K,” he affirmed.

In conclusion, Raman Bhalla articulated Congress’s vision for a progressive, equitable, and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir, where public welfare, rights, and development take precedence over political rhetoric. He reiterated that Congress stands committed to addressing every citizen concern, empowering communities, and holding governments accountable. “Our mission is to ensure that no issue affecting the public remains unresolved, and that every promise made is converted into action,” he said, reaffirming the party’s role as the true voice of the people in the Union Territory.
