JKAACL holds classical, folk dance evening ‘Desh Ke Rang, Nritya Ke Sang’

Jammu, December 28 (Scoop News)- To celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of unity in diversity, the Department of Culture, through the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), organized a colourful classical and folk dance rvening titled “Desh Ke Rang, Nritya Ke Sang” at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary, Culture, B. M. Sharma, said that the programme was conceptualized to present a vibrant mosaic of India’s diverse dance traditions by bringing together renowned and emerging artists representing various classical and folk dance forms from different regions of the country.

The cultural evening featured a captivating series of performances, including Vande Mataram (Aanya Sumit Verma), Kavi Varshini. S, Bharatanatyam, J. Surmala, Manipuri, Khajoor Singh and Party, Geetru (Jammu Folk), Mudasir Maqbool and Party, Bachnagma (Kashmir Folk), Priyanka Maurya Kathak and Raminder Khurana, Odissi. The performances enthralled the audience with their grace, rhythm and expressive artistry, leaving a lasting impression on the spectators. The performance of Ramonder Khurana was highly applauded by the audience.

Through this event, JKAACL reaffirmed its commitment towards preserving and promoting traditional art forms, strengthening cultural harmony and providing a vibrant platform for the artists to showcase their talent.

The event was graced by Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari; Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhury; IGP Bhim Sen Tuti besides senior officers from the IFS and other services.

A large gathering of art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, members of the general public and inmates of Old-age Home, Amphalla, were the special invitees, who witnessed the program with enthusiasm and appreciated the cultural extravaganza.
