Save Youth Save Future Holds ‘DARDNAMA’ Programme for Terror-Affected Families in Baramulla

Srinagar, December 28 (Scoop News)- The Save Youth Save Future Foundation on Sunday organized a large-scale humanitarian programme titled “DARDNAMA: A Chronicle of Pain, Truth, and Human Resilience” at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla, bringing together nearly 400 families from across North Kashmir who have been affected by terrorism over the past three decades.

The programme provided a dignified and inclusive platform for victims of terrorism; many of whom have remained unheard, undocumented, and unaddressed for over thirty years to share their stories of loss, suffering, and resilience. The initiative primarily focused on families whose cases were never systematically recorded or adequately addressed by previous mechanisms.

On the occasion, the Foundation acknowledged and appreciated the victim-centric and humanitarian initiatives undertaken under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, particularly in the areas of rehabilitation, relief, and employment support for families affected by terrorism. These measures were noted as significant steps towards long-awaited justice and healing.

The programme was chaired by the Chairman of the Foundation, Wajahat Farooq Bhat, who, in his address, highlighted the immense sacrifices, prolonged suffering, and remarkable resilience of genuine victims of terrorism. He stated that for over three decades, a large number of affected families had remained voiceless and invisible despite enduring irreparable losses, and emphasized the urgent need for sustained institutional attention.

Senior office bearers of the Foundation, including Vice Chairman Arif and General Secretary Sajad Hassan Mir, were present. The event was also attended by State Coordinators Fayaz Ahmed Mir and Maqbool Ahmed Khan, District Coordinators Jasib Shabir and Moun Ul Hameed, along with other members of the organization. The Foundation documented details of pending cases, disabled victims, widows, orphans, and other genuine cases that have not yet received due assistance. The collected data will be pursued with the concerned authorities in a systematic, responsible, and transparent manner.

Addressing the gathering, Wajahat Farooq Bhat further stated that the recent victim-focused measures initiated under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha have instilled renewed confidence among long-neglected families, with several decades-old cases now receiving attention and support.

The programme concluded with a collective commitment to sustained ground-level engagement, comprehensive documentation, and strong advocacy to ensure that the real victims of terrorism; especially those unheard for over thirty years are duly recognized, supported, and rehabilitated with dignity.
